Karnataka Introduces Dress Code For Devotees In Over 200 Temples

Karnataka State Dharmik Parishat (KSDP), a government religious body, has decided to implement a dress code for devotees in over 200 temples in Dakshina Kannada. Following the cultural aspects, a local priest said, "We have urged devotees to follow dress code which respects Hindu cultural values. Saree is preferred for women...For men, we're deciding." However, the religious body will implement it after getting the government's approval.

Devotees Of Sai Baba File Complaint After Idol Removed In Delhi Temple

Few Sai Baba devotees have filed a complaint against the "removal" of his idol in South Delhi's Shahpur Jat temple. The devotees have said that their sentiments were hurt. While the temple committee claimed that they replaced the idol with that of Lord Ganesha, locals citing a viral video alleged that a man gave anti-faith remarks when the idol was removed.  Meanwhile, police said they were "inquiring into the matter".

J&K: Vaishno Devi Temple To Launch App for Live Dharshan

Mata Vaishno Shrine, Jammu and Kashmir, is set to launch an app for devotees to experience live darshan and conduct live hawan, ahead of navratri. The app is expected to launch on October 17. Devotees can also get home delivery of the prasad through speed post by booking it on the website. Reportedly, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, wants to utilise technology to reach devotees globally.

Rajasthan: Eleven Killed and Three Went Missing in a Boat Accident

Eleven people killed and three went missing on September 16, after a boat overturned into the Chambal River in Rajasthan's Bundi district. According to the reports, 35 people were sailing through the river with 15 motorbikes loaded. A compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the family of deceased has been announced by the Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. "A case has been registered against the boat sailor and the owner," said police.
