Palghar Administration Issue Advisory For Farmers Amid Mumbai Monsoon
In the view of the upcoming Monsoon, the concerned administration issuer advisory for the people of Palghar district, especially farmers. Issued on May 6, the administration advised people to take the necessary precaution amid rains to farmers and horticulturists. Collector Dr Manik Gursal has asked farmers to store food grains in safe places, as rains are expected on May 19 and 20 in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar areas.

Madurai BJP Unit Demands Re-election In Over 15 Madurai Municipal Wards
The BJP unit in Madurai, on February 19, demanded re-poll of municipal elections in 15 wards of Madurai. The BJP leaders alleged that the Dravia Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party casted fake votes in over 15 wards, including (ward 27,43,32) on February 19's municipal elections. Madurai BJP President Saravanan, on evening of February 19, submitted a petition over the same to the district collector and demanded re-elections.

Schools Reopen In Naxal-Dominated Tribal Villages: Chhattisgarh
Many Chhattisgarh districts are dominated by Naxals which makes it difficult for the government to make developments. However, on August 14, after 16 years of fight and struggle, 116 schools reopened in the Naxal-dominated area of the Bijapur district providing education to 2,800 children. "Many schools were destroyed by Naxals in last 15-16 years. The children from Pedda Jojer can get an education now," District Collector said.
