Sri Lankan Cabinet ministers submitted their resignations with immediate effect, from April 4, amid the worst economic crisis in the nation. Education Minister and Leader of the House, Dinesh Gunawardena said the Cabinet Ministers handed over their mass resignations to PM Mahinda Rajapaksa. Notably, the citizens of Sri Lanka came out on the streets to protest against the Rajapaksa administration amid the economic crisis.

Sri Lanka’s economic crisis has forced six people to leave the island nation. In addition, a couple with a four-month-old baby reached Dhanushkodi on March 22, in Tamil Nadu.
