Ola Unveils Its S1 Electric Scooter In India
The Ola S1 debuted in India on August 15 as the company's second electric scooter. The Ola S1 has a 3KWh battery and a peak speed of 95kmph. It has an ARAI range of 131km and a normal range of 101km. The electric scooter also has software capabilities such as music, navigation, a companion app, and a reverse mode, and will enable upgrades into Move OS 3 and beyond.

Chennai Resident Launches E-Scooter Manufacturing Company After Facing Rejection For Physical Disability
Naidhroven, a 25-year-old Chennai resident, was rejected by companies due to his physical disabilities. He built an electric scooter to help other individuals with impairments. He received the biggest grant ever provided to any applicant, Rs 25 lakh, for his concept. His scooter has a very reasonable range of up to 120 kilometres. Buyers can select from a variety of battery capacities ranging from 60 kilometres to 200 kilometres.

Hero MotoCorp's Brand New Electric Mobility 'Vida' Launched In Dubai

Ather Energy To Set Up New Facility In Hosur To Scale Up Production
Ather Energy, on November 29, stated that a second manufacturing facility will be set up to scale up the production. Reportedly, by 2022 the new plant will be operational in Hosur. In light of the growing demand for EVs in India, Ather Energy has decided to increase the production from 1,20,000 to 4,00,000 units. Ather currently comes in two variants- 450X and 450 Plus.

Ola Electric Scooter To Be Launched On Independence Day
Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed the launch of the Ola Electric scooter in India on the occasion of Independence Day that is August 15, 2021. Meanwhile, he wrote on Twitter, ''Thank all who've reserved our scooter!'' Reportedly, the scooter carries the highest capacity of 3.6 kWh battery and one can travel up to 180-190 kilometres. Besides, the scooter comes in 10 colours, priced at around Rs 1 lakh.

'Starya Mobility' To Turn Your Regular Scooter Into Electric
Considering the demand for electric vehicles in India, Starya Mobility Private Limited has developed an electric kit to convert your existing scooter into an electric one. Reportedly, it comes at a cost of around Rs 39,000 which is purportedly much lower than Rs 1 lakh for a new scooter. The kit includes a motor, battery, and other types of equipment that can speed up to 75 kmph.

Government Subsidies Electric Two-Wheelers To Attract Customers
In an attempt to increase adoption and manufacturing of electric vehicles in India, the government has increased subsidies on electric two-wheelers under the FAME II scheme. According to a notification issued by the Department of Heavy Industry, the amendment has increased the incentive from ₹10,000 per kWh to ₹15,000 per kWh. The notification further states that the incentive will be 40% of the total two-wheeler cost.
