Waste heap on Mumbai beach video goes viral on social media platforms, leaving concern about the environment and pollution. Netizens reacted to the shared viral video, saying the reason is due to the rising number of buildings, constructions and cutting down trees in the metropolitan cities. Furthermore, people throwing garbage on roads and waste on beaches is also a major reason for this and urged people to behave responsibly.

Itanagar-Hollongi Highway Landslide Causes Connectivity Issues: Arunachal Pradesh

In Itanagar, a massive landslide blocked an arterial road, resulting in a massive traffic jam and causing trouble to people stranded with their vehicles. On June 21, due to the landslide, Itanagar-Hollongi near Chimphu,  at 10:30 am. The administration started work to clear the debris, which is likely to be finished in a couple of days, leaving stranded vehicles and people with no choice but to stay nearby.

Assam Floods: 2 Police Officers Washed Away In Waters In Nagaon District

The flood situation in Assam continues to stay grim as two police personnel were washed away in flood waters in Central Assam's Nagaon district, on June 19. The incident occurred in Kanpur area, when a team of police officers went to investigate a case. After the officers were washed away, the body of the constable was recovered. Meanwhile, the officer-in-charge is still missing, and the search is underway.

Centre To Completely Phase-Out Single-Use Plastics By June 30

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) stated that directions have been issues at Central and State levels, to compeletly phase-out single-use plastic items by June 30. Manufacture, stocking, sale and use of several single-use plastic items with low utility and high littering potential are prohibited from July 1. Furthermore, consent will be revoked to those industries that fail to comply with the orders.

TTD Imposes Complete Ban On Plastic Products In Tirumala

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD)  announced a total ban on plastic bottles, bags, covers, and other nondegradable items, from June 1. The decision to ban plastic products was in order to protect the environment, for which the board issued an order which include, the separation of wet-dry garbage, mass cleaning from 1-3 pm, every Tuesday, for shop-owners and hotels. Furthermore, AP Government also decided to impose a plastic ban.

Leopard Rescued From Army Cantonment In Japaiguri

An adult leopard has been rescued from the Binnaguri Cantonment. The leopard had strayed into the area earlier on May 8, causing alarm among the residents. The cantonment authorities soon alerted forest officials about the presence of the big cat in the area. The leopard was rescued by the officials, and taken to the Lataguri Environmental Observatory, where it would undergo treatment.

5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh's North of Pangin reported an earthquake of 5.3 magnitude on the richter scale, on April 15. At around 6:56 am, the tremors were confirmed, according to National Centre of Seismology (NCS). "Earthquake of magnitude:5.3, occured on 15-04-2022, 06:56:19 IST, Lat: 38.52, Long: 97.03, Depth: 30 Km, Location: 1179 Km N of Pangin, Arunachal Pradesh," mentioned a Tweet from NCS.
