India To Evacuate 300 Indians Due To Menace Of Taliban

Following the evacuation of over 200 people from Afghanistan, India is set to evacuate another around 300 nationals on August 22 as the Taliban took over the country. Reportedly, over 80 and 90 Indians who were shifted to Tajikistan and Doha from Afghanistan will be brought back to India, followed by around 100 people from Kabul. The MEA is also prioritising bringing every Indian citizen from Afghanistan.

Biden Vows To Evacuate All Americans, Afghan Allies From Kabul

US President Joe Biden on August 20 said that his administration is committed to bringing back all Americans and Afghan nationals who helped the US in their war against the Taliban. "Let me be clear: Any American who wants to come home, we will get you home," Biden said. While speaking about the evacuation process, he said that the mission could be accomplished by August 31.

Willing To Work With Taliban If Needed: Boris Johnson

As the Taliban started ruling Afghanistan, the UK's PM Boris Johnson said on August 20 that he will continue working with the militants if it helps to find the solution for Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the British Government managed to evacuate 1,615 people, including 402 Afghans. Defending his foreign minister, Johnson also said, ''I want to assure people is that our political and diplomatic efforts to find a solution for Afghanistan".

Citizens, Tourists Evacuated Due To Massive Wildfires In Greece

Greece is suffering from massive wildfires which have killed at least two people, including a firefighter. Reportedly, six areas have been on high alert and 150 fires have been spotted. Tourists and residents are being evacuated as strong winds and high temperatures are making the blaze uncontrollable. Italy’s Valley Evacuated Over Fears of Mont Blanc Glacier Collapse
