Following the evacuation of over 200 people from Afghanistan, India is set to evacuate another around 300 nationals on August 22 as the Taliban took over the country. Reportedly, over 80 and 90 Indians who were shifted to Tajikistan and Doha from Afghanistan will be brought back to India, followed by around 100 people from Kabul. The MEA is also prioritising bringing every Indian citizen from Afghanistan.

As the Taliban started ruling Afghanistan, the UK's PM Boris Johnson said on August 20 that he will continue working with the militants if it helps to find the solution for Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the British Government managed to evacuate 1,615 people, including 402 Afghans. Defending his foreign minister, Johnson also said, ''I want to assure people is that our political and diplomatic efforts to find a solution for Afghanistan".

Greece is suffering from massive wildfires which have killed at least two people, including a firefighter. Reportedly, six areas have been on high alert and 150 fires have been spotted. Tourists and residents are being evacuated as strong winds and high temperatures are making the blaze uncontrollable. People in Athens are also being moved out due to huge clouds of smoke and ash surrounding the city.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center on March 5 issued alerts of around three-meters-high (10 feet) waves in the Pacific region nations after an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck New Zealand's Kermadec Islands. The alert was issued for mass coastal evacuations in the Pacific region of Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Around 75 people have been evacuated from Italy’s Alpine valley amid fears that the Planpincieux glacier in the Mont Blanc range could collapse due to the summer heat. A local environmental expert has warned that the glacier is melting due to the global warming and could fall "at any time". It is currently under observation with aerial photography and radar; also, the roads leading to the area have been closed.
