Virat Says Team Discussed On Going Farmers' Protests In Meetings
Indian captain Virat Kohli said that the team had engaged in a discussion the ongoing farmers' protests issue in the team meeting. In the pre-series the media interaction ahead of the England Test at Chepauk, Virat stated that the team "briefly" debated the matter. Delhi Court Grants Bail To Journalist Mandeep Punia As Delay In FIR
Citing delay in FIR, a Delhi court granted bail to journalist Mandeep Punia on a bond of Rs 25,000 on February 2. The magistrate said that Mandeep was arrested for allegedly pushing constable Rajkumar at the protest site. Besides observing an anomaly with filing FIR, the court granted bail since the complainant, victims, and witnesses were all policemen. The court affirmed, ‘bail is a rule and jail is an exception’.

Delhi HC Rejects Petition To Release Detained R-Day Protesters
The Delhi High Court on February 2 directed the police to investigate the Republic Day violence at the earliest and has rejected the petition seeking the release of detained protestors. Claiming the petition as "Publicity Interest Litigation", Judges pronounced, “the arrested persons cannot be released without entering into the merits of FIRs". Besides, the bench has directed to produce the detainees before the Magistrate within 24 hours.
