No Plans To Evacuate Indians, Safety Is Priority, Says MEA: Russia-Ukraine Issue
The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA,) on February 17, confirmed to have no plans of evacuation of people from Ukraine and no special flights have been arranged. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar To Visit Australia & Philippines On 6 Day Tour
Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will begin his six-day tours to Philippines and Australia, from February 10. This is the first visit of Jaishankar as the External Affairs Minister, especially after India signed a deal of $375 million with Philippines. The Union Minister will also participate in the fourth Quad Foreign Minister's meeting on February 11, in Melbourne.

Indian Envoy To Boycott Opening & Closing Ceremony Of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022
Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the MEA, on February 3, confirmed not to attend opening and closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Disappointed with the torchbearer post, given to honour official commander involved in 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the Indian envoy decided to boycott the event. Taking a dig at the Chinese Government, Bagchi said, "Regrettable that China has chosen to politicise Olympics".

MEA Appoints Dr Anupam Ray As Ambassador Of India To UN Conference
Dr Anupam Ray has been appointed as India's ambassador to the UN Conference on Disarmament, on December 29. He will also be the permanent representative of India for UN Conferences. "Dr Anupam Ray (IFS:1994) presently joint secretary in Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador/PR of India to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Geneva," read release issued by Ministry of External Affairs. Ray is expected to join duties soon.

UAE Is Most Popular Destination To Travel For Indians: V Muralidharan
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the most popular destination for Indians. On December 22, the Ministry of External Affairs Minister V. Muralidharan, released a data, which reveals 3,14,495 people, which is 50%, visited the UAE on tourist visas in first quarter of 2021. A major reason for the travelers visiting the UAE, amid the pandemic is due to the bubble agreement made between India and the UAE.

Afghanistan To Receive Medical Supplies From India
The Ministry of External Affairs on December 11 said a consignment of medical supplies were dispatched by India to Kabul on a return flight which evacuated Indians and Afghans from Afghanistan. External Affairs Minister In Mexico To Discuss Bilateral Trade
Mexican Minister of Finance and Public Credit Rogelio Ramírez de la O personally welcomed the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for a talk to boost bilateral cooperation in trade and investment. This is the first visit of an Indian External Affairs Minister to Mexico in 41 years. During this visit, S. Jaishankar will also be visiting the commemorative events of the 200th anniversary of Mexican Independence.

PM Modi To Address 21st SCO Session In Tajikistan On September 17
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on Sept 15 that PM Narendra Modi will virtually attend the 21st meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Tajikistan's Dushanbe. SCO will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. The meeting is to be chaired by Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon and India's External Affair Minister S Jaishankar. At the summit, leaders are invited to review the activities and prospects of SCO.

Chinese Army Assemble At Western Border, Violates Bilateral Agreement: India
China assembled its troops near India's border and attempted to "alter LAC's status quo". India on June 24, called it a deliberate violation of the bilateral agreement.
