Farmers Protest Continues For 2 Days; Punjab Govt To Hold Meeting With Farm Leaders
Farmers continued to block rail tracks and a national highway in Jalandhar owing to the protest against the hike in sugarcane prices by the Punjab government for continuous two days. Meanwhile, on August 21, 89 trains were cancelled and 54 were diverted. The Punjab government will hold a meeting with the farm leaders. All the 32 farm leaders have joined the protest which will be held for an indefinite period.

Farmers Protesting Against Sedition Case, To 'Gherao' SP's Office
Paramilitary troops are stationed as farmers in Haryana’s Sirsa, knocked down police barricades on July 17 while protesting against the arrest of fellow farmers. Reportedly, five farmers were arrested and charged with sedition for allegedly assaulting BJP leader Ranbir Gangwa on July 11. Sirsa is on high alert as farmer leaders are planning to gather around the office of the local SP to demand the release of those arrested.

Farmers Call The Present Situation 'Undeclared Emergency'
Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) is going to observe June 26 as "Kheti Bachao, Loktantra Bachao Diwas" to mark the completion of seven months of disconcertment against Centre's three farm laws. Naming the present situation as an "undeclared emergency", the SKM will showcase their agitation through the protests outside Raj Bhavan on the date of emergency. Even after several rounds of talks, the issue remains unsettled.

SC Appointed 3-Member Panel Submits Report On Controversial Farm Bills

20,000 Extra RPF Forces Deployed Ahead Of Farmers' Rail Roko
Ahead of the Rail Roko stir on February 18, the Indian Railways have deployed additional 20,000 Railway Protection Special Forces personnel across the nation. Govt Asks Twitter To Block 1,178 Handles Operated By Pak, Khalistan Users

Delhi Police Files FIR Against Creators Of Toolkit Shared By Greta
Delhi Police has filed an FIR against the makers of the contentious toolkit shared by climate activist Greta Thunberg. However, the police clarified the FIR does not name anybody as an accused, including Greta Thunberg. Addressing the press, Delhi Police said it would further investigate the case. Earlier, Thunberg tweeted a toolkit “for those who want to help” the farmers. However, she deleted it immediately.
