Samsung Launches Galaxy F41 In India; Eyes Mid-range Segment

Samsung has launched a new smartphone, 'F41', in the mid-range category in India. Reportedly, 'F41' has two variants: 6GB + 64GB model priced at Rs 16,999, and 6GB + 128GB version at Rs 17,999. It can be purchased via Flipkart or Samsung website from October 16. 'F41' has octa-core Exynos 9611 SoC processor, 6,000mAh battery, triple rear cameras, and Android 10 among other features.

Flipkart Plans to List its Overseas IPO As Early As 2021

E-commerce firm Flipkart is eyeing for an initial public offerings in the US and Singapore as early as 2021. The offering could value the firm up to $50 billion (roughly Rs. 3,68,512 crores), sources familiar with the company's plans told Reuters. Reportedly, Flipkart's current market value stands at $25 billion. However, the Bengaluru-based firm has not responded on the information being surfaced yet.

Country of Origin on Products to be Displayed on Amazon and Flipkart

The country of origin for the products marketed by the sellers on Amazon and Flipkart will now be listed as per government orders. The companies have asked the vendors to mention the country of origin, under the provisions of the Legal Metrology Act of 2009. However, questions have surfaced as to whether the country of origin of the marketplace should be listed or the wholesaler's.

Flipkart Partners with HipBar For Alcohol Delivery

Flipkart has made an arrangement with Giageo-backed HipBar, an alcohol home delivery mobile app, to deliver alcohol in two states, according to sources. Reportedly, it will allow customers to order alcohol from the latter's mobile app. Amazon is also considering a similar strategy as Swiggy and Zomato have already been distributing liquor in some cities. Alcohol market in India is worth $27.2 billion, as per IWSR Drinks Market Analysis.

Amazon Beats Flipkart; Becomes Top Online Smartphone Channel in India

Amazon has outpaced Flipkart to become the top online smartphone channel in India, a latest report by Counterpoint Research revealed. Amazon captured 47% of the market shares during the second quarter of 2020, while Flipkart held 42%. However, the report showed that Flipkart has a strong position in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment with more than 50% share in online smartphone market. Xiaomi remained the top brand with 44% market share.
