Indian Lawn Bowls Squad Brings India Gold: Commonwealth Games 2022

The India lawn bowls team bagged a historic gold medal for the nation at the Commonwealth Games.  On August 2, the women's lawn bowl squad made India proud, after it secured the gold medal against South Africa, in finals. The Indian quartet of Lovely Choubey (lead), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third) and Rupa Rani Tirkey (slip) beat South Africa 17-10 in the women's fours final, at the CWG 2022.

Junior World Championships: Indian Women Shooters Claim Gold, Men Take Bronze

At the ISSF Junior World Championship, Indian shooters won gold in the women's skeet team event in the finals, and the men's team won bronze. Areeba Khan, Raiza Dhillon, and Ganemat Sekhon won gold in the women's event, and the bronze medal was won by Rajveer Gill, Ayush Rudraraju, and Abhay Singh Sekhon. India is presently second in the ranking, with a total of seven medals in the competition.

India To Bring 15 Medals & 5 Golds From Tokyo Paralympics: Gursharan Singh

India will perform its best in Tokyo Paralympics, aiming to bring at least 15 medals and five gold medals, said India’s Chef-de-Mission Gursharan Singh. India has already bagged 12 medals and four gold medals so far. Reportedly, India has featured the largest chance of introducing 54 athletes in nine different sports namely Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, and others. India is having medal hopes from Para Javelin throwers.

Former Hockey Coach, Olympic Gold Medallist MK Kaushik Dies Of COVID

Former Indian hockey coach and a gold medallist at the 1980 Moscow Olympics passed away of COVID-19 on May 8. The 66-year-old was hospitalised since April 24 after testing COVID-19 positive on April 17. He had coached the men’s hockey team that had won a gold medal in the 1998 Asian Games and women's team that clinched bronze medal at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.

Indian Women Boxers Win 7 Of 10 Gold Medal At AIBA Youth Championship

Indian boxing contingent has bagged seven of the 10 gold medals in the 2021 AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships held in Poland. Boxers Alfiya Pathan, Thokchom Sanamacha Chanu, Arundhati Choudhary, Vinka, Poonam, Babyrojisana Chanu, and Gitika bagged the medals in 48kg to +81kg categories. Finishing top in the medal tally, interestingly, Sachin was the only Indian in the finals of AIBA's Men's edition.
