Rare Fauna Seen At Gangotri National Park Points Rich Biodiversity
Recent sightings of rare animal species have proved the blooming biodiversity of Uttarakhand’s Gangotri National Park. The Divisional Forest Officer RN Srivastava said sightings and camera trapping of rare Snow Leopard, Himalayan Brown Bear and Himalayan Tahr confirm the park has a stable prey base. Himalayan Brown Bears to Lose 73% Habitat by 2050: ZSI Report
A study by Zoological Survey of India predicted a great decline of around 73% areas which are a suitable habitat for the Himalayan Brown Bears by 2050 due to climate-change.
