Scientists Design 3D Printing Apparatus To Cultivate Cell Culture

A team of scientists from IIT Madras and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has claimed to have discovered a solution in cell culture that controls the cell growth in a lab. The team designed a 3-D printing apparatus to cultivate the cell cultures and extend its growth period. Reportedly, this will ramp up the medical research for treatment of various ailments like cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and even COVID-19.

Nirmala Sitharaman Inaugurates India’s 1st 3D Printed House At IIT-Madras

FinMin Nirmala Sitharaman on April 27 inaugurated the India's first 3D printed house at IIT-Madras. Made by IIT-Madras alumni founded startup Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions, the 600 square feet house was constructed using indigenous concrete 3D printing technology. IIT-Madras Closes Campus Temporarily After Witnessing 71 COVID Cases

As IIT-Madras witnessed 71 COVID-19 cases, including 66 students, since December 1, it has temporarily shut down its campus. Reportedly, the college mess has been cited as the major point from where the disease spread. A student said, "Mess is not a place where we wear our masks. So all of us were vulnerable." The students have been asked to stay in their room as packed food will be delivered to them there only.

IIT Madras Removes Branch Change Option For Students Of Batch 2020-21

The officials of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on October 10 announced that incoming students for the year 2020-21 will not have the option to change the branch. Previously, around 10% students were allowed to change their branches based on their CGPA in the first semester. However, the students pursuing B.Tech will be able to upgrade the course to five-year dual degree (B Tech + M Tech).
