Boat Carrying Over 100 Wedding Guests Capsized In Indus River, 23 Dead: Pakistan
A boat carrying over 100 wedding guests capsized in the Indus river, in Pakistan's Rahim Yar Khan city. About 26 persons have gone missing, and 23 have been confirmed dead. The government stated that when the boat overturned, divers rescued around 90 persons. Also, the statement mentioned that most of the passengers were children and women. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep condolence to the deceased.

Protests Erupt In Pakistan's Singh Province Over Water Crisis
In Tharparkar district of Pakistan's Sindh province, dozens of people staged a protest against the ongoing water crisis in Mithi town. The protestors claimed that due to the water crisis, people are forced to buy water cans at exorbitant rates. Also, farmers in Sindh and Balochistan provinces took it to a level ahead by blocking major highways and demanding for a release of water from the Indus river.

Centre Clears 8 Hydropower Projects Of 144 MW In Ladakh, Kargil
The Central Government has cleared eight new hydropower projects on the Indus river system in Ladakh. While the earlier projects in the region had a collective capacity of 113 MW, the new HEP projects will be capable of producing 144 MW of electricity. Moreover, three of the projects, amounting to 56 MW capacity, will be coming up in the Kargil area. However, the construction is yet to begin after getting the mandatory clearances.
