Pakistan’s Largest Lake Manchar Dangerously Overflows; Sindh Villagers Trapped
In Pakistan’s Sindh province, the country’s largest lake Manchar, has now started to overflow, putting the lives of the residents in danger. The lake has now swelled to an area hundreds of square kilometres wide, owing to the monsoon season. The peninsulas and islands in the lake have now been swallowed up, reported CNN. The province is home to 48 million people, and efforts to lower water level are underway.

Pakistan Floods: 19 People Die In Last 24 Hours, Death Toll Nearing 1,200
As many as 19 persons died in the last 24 hours in Pakistan to the ongoing flood condition, on September 2. With this, the death toll has gone up to 1,186, since June 14. In the last 24 hours, 12 died in Sindh, four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and three in Balochistan. Notably, the deceased include nine children. Also, the floods have hit over 80 districts wrecking havoc.

Protests Erupt In Pakistan's Singh Province Over Water Crisis
In Tharparkar district of Pakistan's Sindh province, dozens of people staged a protest against the ongoing water crisis in Mithi town. The protestors claimed that due to the water crisis, people are forced to buy water cans at exorbitant rates. Also, farmers in Sindh and Balochistan provinces took it to a level ahead by blocking major highways and demanding for a release of water from the Indus river.
