A plea seeking stay on dismantling India's decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier 'INS Viraat' was rejected by the Supreme Court. The bench headed by the Chief Justice S.A. Bobde chose not intervene as 40% of the iconic ship has already been dismantled. Filed by M/S Envitech Marine Consultants Private Limited, the plea sought to convert the 65-year-old aircraft carrier into a museum. The ship was inducted into Indian Navy in 1987.
