To serve food during the traditional "Ayambil Oli Tap" festival of the Jains, the Jain temples in Maharashtra can reopen their dining halls, starting October 23. The permission was granted by the Bombay High Court on October 22. However, the court has directed the temples to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which the government had chalked for restaurants. Reportedly, the temples will remain closed for prayers.
