ED Turns Down Exemption Request In Herald Money Laundering Case, Asks To Appear On Oct 7

Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar said the Enforcement Directorate has turned down his plea for exemption from appearance before the agency in Delhi. Notably, ED asked Shivakumar to appear before them on October 7 in the National Herald money laundering case. However, he demanded an exemption and now would decide whether to appear before the agency after talking to his party leaders.

Congress Suspends Mekedatu Padayatra Amid COVID-19 Surge: Karnataka

Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, Congress unit in Karnataka, postponed their "Mekedatu Padayatra". On January 13, former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, "Karnataka Congress has decided to suspend Mekedatu Padayatra with immediate effect in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation". K'taka Cong To Begin "100 Not Out Campaign" Against Rising Fuel Prices

To protest against the increased prices of petrol across the country, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to launch a "100 not out campaign" on June 11. State party chief DK Shivakumar stated, "KPCC will hold protests at 5,000 major petrol pumps", adhering to the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. Moreover, the five-day protest will be supervised by the party leaders virtually through Zoom calls.
