UP's New Policy Mandates Rs 21,000 Licence Fee To Stock Liquor
In the newly approved Liquor Policy, the Uttar Pradesh government has mandated to avail licence to store liquor at home. Under this, one can store up to 1.5 litres of country-made and Indian made foreign liquor along with four beer bottles. Moreover, to store above the prescribed limit, people will have to obtain Rs 12,000 worth annual licence and pay Rs 51,000 as security to the state excise department.

ITBP Rolls Out Online Liquor Distribution System For Its Personnel
An online Centralised Liquor Management System (CLMS) has been launched by the ITBP to provide desired liquor brands to the Army personnel guarding the LAC. The recently cleared long-standing move will help the in-service and retired ITBP personnel to buy liquor from their nearest unit and also check the stock online. Previous system provisioned them to purchase the liquor only from the canteens of the units, where they were posted.

Newlywed Groom In UP Stabbed To Death For Liquor By Friends
In Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, a newlywed man has been stabbed to death by his friends for not providing them with alcohol. The 28-year-old Bablu was unable to arrange liquor for his friends, whom he visited soon after his marriage. In a heated argument, one of the drunk friends attacked and stabbed Bablu. While the police have arrested the main accused Ramkhiladi, they are in search of the absconders.

Uttar Pradesh: 4 Die After Consuming Illicit Liquor; 5 Hospitalised
Consumption of illicit liquor has caused at least 4 deaths in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district, while 5 people are admitted to a hospital. The incident happened at Amilia village of the district on November 20. Police and excise departments are probing the incident. Reportedly, the villagers informed that the victims got the liquor from a local shop, following which the police have taken a man into custody.

West Bengal Government Revises Price Structure Of Liquor
