Centre Declares Raigad's Karjat As Garbage-free City: Maharashtra
The central government on November 13 declared the municipal council of Karjat as a garbage-free city in Maharashtra's Raigad district. Karjat reportedly received a three-star rating under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. The wet garbage collected is used for making biogas to supply the electricity in street lights.
