Odisha's Majhipura Village Celebrates Birth Of Every Girl Child
Majhipura tribal village in Odisha's Angul district has been recognizing the birth of a girl child as an auspicious event. Contrary to the other villages in the region, for Manjhipura, a girl child is considered God's blessing. The villagers gift new clothes, sweets and grains to the mothers who deliver a girl child. In the population of 320 people, the village has180 females. Moreover, people here neither give dowry nor they take it.
