Chhattisgarh has planned to execute an anti-insurgent mission in collaboration with 6 other states, with which it shares common Maoist corridors. This aims to tackle insurgent activities like organized crime and drugs and weapons trafficking comprehensively. Chhattisgarh: Five Naxals Carrying Bounty Killed By Their Own Members
Over the last two weeks, five Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district were killed by their own colleagues. The police stated that the Naxals had a bounty of Rs 1-3 lakh on their heads. Reportedly, the killing took place due to the internal disputes in CPI(Maoist) regarding the recent murders of civilians by the Naxals in South Bastar. In September, the Naxal leader Modiyam Vijja was shot dead by his subordinates.

West Bengal Police Creates 'SHARK' Unit to Tackle Maoist Groups
West Bengal's Jhargram Police have created a counter-insurgency unit, 'SHARK', in Jangalmahal area. The 30-member team is formed after recent suspicious Maoist activities in Belpahari police-station limits. SHARK commandos, capable of blindfold shooting, have been trained in jungle-warfare and will be assisted by Counter Insurgency Force and CRPF. Chhattisgarh: Nine Naxals Booked Under Special Public Security Act
Nine Naxals were arrested by security forces on September 13 in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. Reportedly, the security forces had received information that led to the arrest.
