India Conducts 11,41,642 COVID Tests On Single Day

Indian Council of Medical Research on October 5 informed about the number of tests conducted till now. About 11,41,642 tests were conducted on October 4. A total of 57,53,94,042 tests have been conducted so far. In the last 24 hours, India reported 18,346 fresh cases, which is the lowest in 209 days. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 2,52,902 active cases.

40,000 Vaccinated Citizens Test Positive For Covid-19 In Kerala

Top officials in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that over 40,000 COVID-19 cases of vaccinated citizens have been registered in Kerala. The central government has directed these cases for genome sequencing to analyze the virus sample. However, it is uncertain to know if the virus that is swiftly spreading is "Delta Variant", despite being vaccinated. Most such cases have been reported in the Pathanamthitta district.

India Records 35,342 New Covid Cases, 483 Deaths In 24 Hours

India reported 35,342 fresh Covid-19 cases and 483 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said. Over 54 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours which takes the data to a total of 42.34 crore vaccines so far, the ministry added. India's recovery rate stands at 97.36%. The total number of people recovered from the virus stands at 3,04,68,079.

Data Breach At Co-WIN System; Centre Claims It As Rumour, Baseless

In response to claims of Co-WIN mobile App's data being leaked as well as hacked, the Union Health and Family Welfare has disapproved the report. "We continue to take appropriate steps as are necessary, from time to time, to ensure that the data of the people are safe with Co-WIN," said Chairman of EGVAC Dr R.S. Centre Asks States To Avoid Hoarding COVID Vaccines For 2nd Dose

The Centre has urged the states to avoid hoarding COVID vaccines for the second jab as the country has begun vaccinating all people aged above 45 from April 1. Assuring states for the replenishing of the vaccine stock reguarly, the central government asked them to speed up the inoculation drive and identify low vaccine coverage pockets.
