China's First 'Monkey Virus' Case Dies
A 53-year-old Chinese veterinarian who tested positive for Monkey B virus (BV) in April and died on May 27, is identified as the first case in China. Reportedly, he dissected two dead monkeys in march and subsequently started showing symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. However, the person who was in close contact reported negative for the virus. The virus' fatality rate is 70-80%.
