24 Kg Ivory Seized From Smugglers In West Bengal; 2 Arrested
In West Bengal, forest officials apprehended two persons for allegedly smuggling ivory obtained from elephant tusk. The ivory weight upto 24 kgs in total. According to forest officer Hari Krishnan, the duo was coming from Malbazar area, when they were stopped and checked. The accused have admitted to the offence, and stated that the ivory was supposed to be delivered to their counterpart in Nepal. Further details are awaited.

Over 35 Arrested In Kathmandu For Running Fake Call Centre: Nepal
In Nepal's Kathmandu, as many as 35 persons including a Chinese national have been arrested for allegedly running a fake a call centre in Tinkune. The accused are being suspected for carrying out illegal activities and transactions. The police also confiscated laptops, computers and other documents from the office. Reportedly, the call centre is being operated since two years, and over 2,000 persons are employed.

IRCTC, First Indian Firm To Provide Tourist Train Between 2 Countries, India & Nepal
Tourist trains operated by Indian Railways under the Bharat Gaurav Scheme will depart from New Delhi on June 21. It will operate on Ramayana Circuit, which is part of the "Swadesh Darshan" plan. The trip would cost roughly Rs 65,000 per person, according to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. By linking two nations India and Nepal, with a tourist train, IRCTC becomes the first agency to achieve this milestone.

Missing Tara Air Plane Discovered In Mustang's Kowang Village: Nepal Army
Tara Air's 9 NAET twin-engine aircraft, which went missing in Mustang's hilly area on May 29, was discovered in Kowang hamlet. The plane crashed at the entrance of the Lamche river underneath the avalanche of Manapathi Himal, according to information provided to the Nepal Army by villagers. "We are deploying a helicopter to the area for the search operation," said Ram Kumar Dani, DSP of District Police Office, Mustang.

Nepalese Airline Losts Contact Hours After Take Off, 22 Passengers On Board
In Nepal, a private airlines plane with 22 passengers including four Indians has gone missing in the mountainous region of the Himalayan. The plane named the Twin Otter 9N-AET plane belonging to Tara Air, which took off from Pokhara on the morning of May 29, lost contact with the tower 15 minutes after it flew, confirmed airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula. Notably, it is suspected that the plane has crashed.

US president Joe Biden has appointed Dean R Thompson as the US ambassador to Nepal, replacing Randy Berry. Thompson serves as the state department's deputy assistant secretary for the south and central Asian affairs, and was also the Consul general of the US consulate in Kolkata, West Bengal. 3 Arrested For Smuggling Marijuana From Nepal: Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested three persons with 18.980 kgs of marijuana, smuggled from Nepal on March 6. Agra's SP Shiv Ram Yadav informed that the accused have been arrested from Agra with one mobile and four roadways tickets. Reportedly, the market value of 18.980 kgs of marijuana is Rs 95 lakh. "The accused are under interrogation, further investigation is underway," said SP Yadav.
