BBC Apologizes For Headline "Manchester United Are Rubbish"
The BBC apologized to viewers on May 24 when the headline "Manchester United are rubbish" flashed on their ticker during a television news show. During coverage of the French Open tennis event, the headline was displayed at the bottom of the screen. Annita McVeigh, a BBC presenter, later apologized on the live show, explaining that the headline was made when somebody was learning how to operate the ticker.
