US Approves $285 Million Sale Of NASAMS Air Defence System To Ukraine

Amid the urgent need for a defence system to Ukraine, the United States announced the approval of a $285 million sale of a NASAMS air defence system. Besides the defence, the United States Government also approved other equipment for Ukraine. Notably, after a recent drone attack, Kyiv needs a boost in protection against Russian strikes. Ukraine's air defenses have played a key role in protecting the country from strikes.

In United States’ Purdue University’s Indiana Campus, a 22-year-old student has been taken into police custody for the alleged murder of his Indian-origin roommate Varun Manish Chheda. Chheda had reportedly suffered “multiple sharp Force traumatic injuries”. The accused, identified as Ji Min ‘Jimmy’ Sha, is a junior cybersecurity major and international student from Korea. Hurricane Ian: 23 Go Missing After Boat Capsizes Off Coast Of Florida

As Hurricane Ian hit the United States of America, a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Florida, informed US Border Patrol. Reportedly, the blast sank due to harsh weather, and at least 23 have gone missing. Four Cuban migrants managed to swim to the shore following the incident. Two were rescued from the water about two miles south of Boca Chica. A search and rescue operation is underway.

French Ambassador to the United Nations Nicolas De Riviere said that the USA has requested for a UN Security Council meeting on September 7, to discuss the Ukraine crisis. On September 6, a meeting on Ukraine has been scheduled, which was requested by Russia, focusing on the situation in and around  Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. As of now, three meeting have been scheduled to discuss the Ukraine issue in September.
