Centre Relieves OCI Diaspora From Carrying Old Passports During Visit

The Centre has waived off the need of carrying old passports by travellers of Indian origin and Indian diaspora having Overseas Citizens of India cards. Earlier, it was mandated for Indian diaspora to carry their OCI card with the old passport number and their current passport for a trip to India. Moreover, the March 29 notification also extended the time to get the OCI cards reissued, to December 31.

Uttarakhand Police To Examine Social Media Account Before Issuing Passport

The Uttarakhand Police will now scrutinize social media accounts of passport applicants as part of the verification process. Chairing a meeting on February 4, DGP Ashok Kumar justified the decision citing a clause mentioned in the passport law.
