Central Govt Increases Dearness Allowance From 17% To 28%

The central government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners from 17% to 28%. The change will come into effective from July 1, 2021. Notably, the revision has come for 5 million employees and 6.5 million pensioners before the forthcoming festival season. Earlier, the government had increased the DA in 2020 from 17% to 21%, but it was not implemented due to COVID-19.
