Schools For Classes 1-9 To Remain Closed In Puducherry Amid Rising COVID Cases

In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Puducherry government on January 9, ordered to close all the physical classes for students of classes 1 to 9 in the union territory. Online classes will be the mode of study now. Earlier this week, the government allowed market and malls to operate with 50% capacity. It also ordered to operate salons, gyms, cinemas, and auditoriums with 50% seating till January 31.

Puducherry Govt Imposes Additional Restrictions Amid COVID-19 Surge

Amid rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Puducherry Govt imposed additional curbs, on January 6. The Government asked malls, markets and other public places to operate with 50% occupancy. In addition, public transport are also asked to operate with 50% capacity, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and Omicron cases in the region. The additional restrictions will be in effect until January 31, along with night curfew.
