Man Gets 1 Year Sentence In Hit Run Killing Of Rapper Nicki Minaj's Father
Charles Polevich, a man who killed rapper Nicki Minaj's father Robert Maraj in a hit-and-run incident has been sentenced to one year in jail. On August 4, the court convicted Polevich in the 2021 hit and run case and announced a penalty of $5,000. Furthermore, the accused's driving license has also been suspended. Notably, Polevich was not held directly responsible for the matter, but for leaving the scene and victim.

Gully Boy Rapper MC Tod Fod Dies, Bollywood Actors Express Condolences
Actors Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi posted photos of Dharmesh Parmar popular as MC Tod Fod, and mourned his death on March 22. The rapper was seen in Gully Boy and sung India 91, in 2019 released Zoya Akhtar's film Gully Boy. Siddhant Chaturvedi posted a conversation between them and said, "RIP bhai". Furthermore, MC Tod Fod was amongst 54 contributors of the film's music.

Cardi B To Host AMAs; To Air On ABC On Nov 21
According to People Magazine, Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B (29) will be making her debut as a host at the 2021 American Music Awards. The show will be aired on ABC at 8pm EST on November 21. American Rapper Biz Markie Passes Away At 57
The American rapper Biz Markie breathed his last on July 16. The 57-year-old DJ was suffering from diabetes and other health-related issues. Markie was survived by his wife, who passed away at a Baltimore hospital. Diamond Shell, his brother took to Facebook saying, “To the baddest in the beats icon legend. My brother BIZ MARKI. I'll miss you.” Markie was best known for his 1989 track “Just a Friend.”

American Rapper-Cum-Actor DMX Dies Of Heart Attack At 50
American rapper-cum-actor Earl Simmons (50), popularly known as DMX - Dark Man X, passed away on April 9 after being on life-support for five days following a heart attack. Featured in movies like Cradle 2 the Grave and Romeo Must Die, DMX had topped music charts with his songs 'Party Up' and 'X Gon Give It To Ya' as well. He had also served several jail sentences against many charges.

Chicago-based Rapper King Von Dies In Shooting At Atlanta
