For the First Time! Gujarat Adopts Strategies To Restore Drinking Water

Major Gujarat cities are looking towards water restoration beginning this September until March next year. An average of six out of 206 main and small reservoirs will have drinking water reserves, according to a plan adopted by the Gujarat Water Resources department. However, this is the first in several decades that the department has come to a solution to deal with acute drinking water shortage in the state.

Karnataka CM Yediyurappa Resents Tamil Nadu's Cauvery Linking Project

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa expressed his displeasure over his Tamil Nadu counterpart K Palaniswami's latest project linking Vellar-Vaigai-Gundar rivers with Cauvery. Indian Reservoirs' Storage Level Reached at 77% of Capacity: Barclays' Report

A recent Barclays' report has indicated that the storage level of 123 main reservoirs in India has increased to 102% of the previous year. It also stated that the storage level has touched 77% of the total capacity. Reportedly, the storage level on August 27 stood at 131.2 billion cubic meters. Besides, the report suggested the monsoon impacted agriculture positively as atleast 13 of 36 geographical areas received excessive rainfall.
