However, Djokovic's next target is to complete all four major Grand Slam and create history after Don Budge and Rod Laver. "Obviously his goal and our goal is to win the Olympics and then win the Grand Slam. That would be the absolutely top of this year," said coach Marian Vajda.

Argentinian tennis player Nadia Podoroska reached the semi finals of French Open 2020, after taking down the third seed Elina Svitolina by 6-2, 6-4 on Court Philippe Chatrier. The 23-year-old is the third qualifier in the open era to reach semis in any major tournament. “We did a very good job with my coaches during the quarantine. After match-fixing allegations surfaced during a French Open Women's Doubles match, French prosecutors are set to investigate the matter. The match on September 30, between the Romanians Andreea Mitu and Patricia Maria Tig versus Russian-American duo Yana Sizikova and Madison Brengle, came under scrutiny after prosecutors alleged "fraud in an organized group". Reportedly, a huge sum of money was bet over the Romanians winning the game.

The 19-year-old Polish Iga Swiatek knocked out Romanian top seed Simona Halep 6-1, 6-2 in the fourth round of French Open on October 4. France’s Hugo Gaston secured his victory against Swiss player Stan Wawrinka with 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 in the third round of French Open at Roland Garros, on October 2.
