At least 30 people were reported missing in flash floods triggered by a glacial lake outburst in north Sikkim late on October 3, night. The sudden cloudburst created havoc amongst people, in Sikkim, and the situation is likely to worsen in the region. "The exact number of people who have gone missing is still not confirmed. We are gathering details," said concerned officials. Meanwhile, a search operation is underway.

An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, confirmed police on September 5, evening. Security forces in Chhattisgarh have launched a search operation to find 21 jawans who went missing after the April 3 deadly encounter. Meanwhile, seven out of the 24 injured jawans have been shifted to Raipur hospital. CRPF Director-General Kuldiep Singh has also reached Chhattisgarh to analyse the situation. Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah talked to CM Bhupesh Baghel. Notably, the security forces had killed 15 Maoists in the encounter.
