Facebook Suspends Several Pakistan-Based Hacker Accounts In Q-22
Meta-owned Facebook suspended several accounts, which were being operated by APT36, a Pakistan-backed hacker group. On August 8, in the second quarter of 2022, the company clarified that the suspended accounts were targeting Indians through bogus accounts, harassing them on religion and gender grounds. The data was confirmed by Facebook, which released its Quarterly Adversarial Report earlier this week, featuring India prominently in it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to put the "tiranga" ('tricolour', the national flag) as their display pictures on social media profiles between August 2 and 15. On July 31, PM Narendra Modi said, "Let us further this movement by hoisting the National Flag at our homes." Notably, the drive is a part of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav", to celebrate the 75 years of Independent India.

Govt To Make Amendments To Mandate Social Media Platforms To Remove Or Block Flagged Content

Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar is celebrating his 73rd birthday, on July 10. On this occasion, the former cricketers, Indian players and fans flooded social media with wishes for the veteran. Gavaskar, better known as 'Sunny' and 'Little Master', was a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team. He also played 125 Test matches and scored 10,122 runs.
