Cargo, Logistics Company SpiceXpress To Separate From SpiceJet Airline By August 1st Week

SpiceXpress will be split out from SpiceJet airline during the first week of August, according to the carrier's CMD Ajay Singh, after receiving clearance from banks and shareholders. SpiceJet Cargo Flight Bound For China Returns To Kolkata After Weather Radar Failed

The weather radar on one of SpiceJet's flights to China malfunctioned on July 5, causing yet another technical issue. A Boeing 737 freighter (cargo plane) operated by SpiceJet was supposed to fly from Kolkata to Chongqing on July 5. The pilot in control chose to land back in Kolkata after takeoff when the weather radar stopped functioning. A SpiceJet spokesperson confirmed that the flight landed safely in Kolkata.

SpiceJet Conducts Priority Landing In Mumbai Amid Windshield Crack Issue

In another technical glitch issue, SpiceJet's Q400 plane conducted a priority landing in Mumbai. On July 5,  after the windshield cracked mid-air, the flight, facing a technical issue, carrying over 100 passengers landed at priority, said a Director General of Civil Aviation (DCGA) official. Furthermore, in the past 17 days, this is at least the seventh incident of technical malfunction happening on SpiceJet aircraft.

SpiceJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Detecting Smoke Inside Cabin

A SpiceJet flight which was enroute from Delhi to Jabalpur, returned to Delhi after smoke was detected inside the cabin. The flight which left Delhi airport at 6:15 am, returned to Delhi at 7 am, after passengers first spotted the smoke at around 5,000 feet altitude. All the passengers were safely de-boarded at Delhi airport. Reportedly, the passengers also complained of difficulty to breath due to the smoke.

Jet Airways Asks DGCA To Order SpiceJet To Remove Its Livery From Planes

Jet Airways requested DGCA to order SpiceJet to remove its livery from the plane. Jet Airways claims it is deceptive and a safety threat. A few of the airplanes that are still in service have the original Jet Airways airframe and tail colors. The report stated it is clear that an operator that flies its aircraft in another airline's livery can deceive the public about who the operator is.

SpiceJet To Begin Flight Services Between Bhavnagar-Pune Soon

Airlines company SpiceJet is all set to start flights connecting Bhavnagar in Gujarat with Pune and Mumbai from May 5 onwards. The company released a statement regarding the same on April 26, which read, "The Bhavnagar-Pune flight will operate under the Central government's UDAN scheme". It will start its Q400 aircraft for its route between Ahmedabad-Pune, easing travel for passengers, that too at affordable prices.
