Anti-terror Law Should Not Be Misused For Quelling Dissent: Justice Chandrachud
While speaking at the Indo-US Joint Summer Conference, Supreme Court Justice Dr Chandrachud on July 12 stated that the Anti-terror law should not be "misused for quelling dissent". "Deprivation of liberty for even a single day is one too many. We must always be mindful of the deeper systemic issues of our decisions," he added. These remarks come amid the outrage over many unjustified arrests under the UAPA.
