Ketaki Chitale Sent To Judicial Custody Over Derogatory Post Against Sharad Pawar

Marathi actress Ketaki Chitale has been sent to 14-day judicial custody, after her 3-day police custody expired on May 18. Chitale was arrested on May 15 from Thane, for allegedly sharing a "derogatory post" against NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Reportedly, she was thrown ink at by agitated people, during her arrest. The investigation is underway and over 15 cases have been registered against her across various police station in Maharashtra.

Chemical Tanker Overturns Causing Chemical Spills On Road In Thane: Maharashtra

In Maharashtra's Thane, a chemical tanker overturned in Ghodbunder road after the driver lost balance. The tanker was on its way to Ratnagiri in Gujarat, and two persons were injured in the accident. The tanker contained 10 tonnes of Ethyl Benzyl Aniline chemical, and near the Horizon Prime hospital in Ghodbunder road, the driver lost control and hit the divider. Reportedly, the chemical spilled on the road caused traffic jam.

Marathi actress Ketaki Chitale has been arrested by Thane police for her "derogatory post" against NCP chief Sharad Pawar on social media. Reportedly, Ketaki made objectionable comments about Pawar's appearance and Illness, while taking a dig at the party's motives. She allegedly used phrases such as "hell is waiting" and "you hate Brahmins". Reportedly, four cases have been registered, she will be produced before a court on May 15.

Thane Police Books 8 People Including Doctor For Thrashing, Abusing 36 Year Old Woman

In Mumbai's Thane, eight people have been booked for thrashing a 36-year-old woman. Notably, on May 5, a doctor, hospital staff, security guard and a policeman allegedly thrashed a woman, abused her and then destroyed the crime evidence. Although the incident happened in November 2020, a case was registered a year later, on May 2022, as per the directions of a local court, amid CCTV footage, supporting woman's allegations.

BJP Leader Ganesh Naik's Pre-Arrest Bail Plea Rejected: Maharashtra

Pre-arrest bail plea of BJP leader Ganesh Naik, in a case of alleged "rape and intimidation", has been rejected by the Thane District court, on April 30. The FIRs filed against Naik was based on a complaint filed by a 42-year-old woman. According to the complaint, Naik was in a live-in relationship with the woman and has a son with her. The complaints have been raised after their alleged breakup.

Man Detained For Firing Licensed Revolver 5 Times At Wife & 3 Sons: Thane

Rajesh Sharma (51) has been detained by Kapurbawdi police station in Thane, for allegedly firing five shots from his licensed revolver at his wife and three sons, on April 15. According to senior Police Inspector U.D. Sonawane, Sharma came home drunk and got picked up an argument with his wife and sons about them being "jobless". Sharma who then got agitated, fired his revolver. Reportedly, nobody sustained injuries.

Thane Man Opened Fire At Daughter-In-Law For Not Serving Breakfast

In a bizarre incident in Thane, Kashinath Pandurang Patil (76) allegedly opened fire at his daughter-in-law, for not serving breakfast to him. On April 15, senior inspector Santosh Ghatekar registered an FIR under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) besides the Arms Act, filed by the accused another daughter-in-law. Fire Breaks Out At Thane Godown In Maharashtra; No Casualties Reported

A major fire incident was reported in a godown, in Thane, Maharashtra, on the morning of March 26. According to ANI, the fire broke out at around 3:20 am in Kanya Nagar region. The local Municipal Corporation said that the firefighting operations are underway and no casualties have been reported so far. Furthermore, the reason behind the fire is still uncertain. An investigation is underway.

IMD Issues Heat Waves Alert For Mumbai, Thane For Next 72 Hours

Heatwave conditions are likely to occur at isolated parts of Mumbai, North Konkan, Thane, and Raigad on March 14, and a yellow alert has also been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On March 14, Santacruz recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6° Celsius, Colaba recorded 37.6° Celsius. Earlier, on March 13, Mumbai recorded 22.5° Celsius and it is expected to stay for the next three to four days.

Teenager Killed In Mumbai's Thane District; Investigation Underway

Guran Azhar Shaikh (18), a resident of Ashok Nagar area in Bhiwandi, Thane, was killed by unidentified people. As per Maharashtra police, the victim was allegedly taken to an isolated place, and was killed. Although the incident happened on March 3, the body was found on March 4, following which it was sent for postmortem. The police registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC and launched an investigation.
