In Madhya Pradesh, 11 people died across four districts in one day, due to lightning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of lightning and thunderstorms in eight districts. An ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. According to IMD department scientists, in 2021, Madhya Pradesh reported the highest number of clouds and ground strikes. 

Thunderstorms with mild to moderate rainfall are expected throughout Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, on June 21, according to Chennai Regional Meteorological Department. India Meteorological Department declared a yellow alert in Delhi on June 15, anticipating thunderstorms and strong winds in the national capital. The city saw a low temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius on June 15. Over the next six days, the IMD predicts thunderstorms or light rainfall in Delhi. The temperature is expected to dip to 35 degrees Celsius by June 19 due to the rains, as per the forecast.  

Delhi-NCR and several adjoining areas woke up to monstrous rains and thunderstorms on the morning of January 8, which increased the air quality. The rainfall received was 40.6 mm, as per IMD reports. Following the rains, Delhi's air quality improved to 95 (AQI), which is termed "satisfactory". "The air quality is likely to remain in moderate category on Sunday and moderate to poor category on Monday," said Weather Department.
