IMD Issues Yellow Alert In Delhi, Temperature Expected To Drop

India Meteorological Department declared a yellow alert in Delhi on June 15, anticipating thunderstorms and strong winds in the national capital. The city saw a low temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius on June 15. Over the next six days, the IMD predicts thunderstorms or light rainfall in Delhi. The temperature is expected to dip to 35 degrees Celsius by June 19 due to the rains, as per the forecast.

Delhi's Maximum Temperature Reaches 42 Degrees Celsius, Highest Since 2012: IMD

According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi has seen 25 days with a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius this summer season, the most since 2012. With a monthly average maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius, Delhi had its second warmest April since 1951. This year, the city has had six heatwaves, the deadliest of which occurred in mid-May, when temperatures reached 49 degrees Celsius in certain areas.

IMD Predicts Severe Cold, Rainfall And Dense Fog In North Region

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued "severe cold" warning across North India. Due to cyclonic circulations from Himalayas are expected to move towards North West, resulting moderate-light rainfall in West Bengal, Sikkim and Delhi. UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajastha and other northern region of India are expected to face severe cold, below 5° Celsius temperature and dense fog, in isolated pockets, till February 7.

IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert For Maharashtra

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued cold wave alert for Maharashtra, till January 27. Notably, the state witnessed second coldest morning below 16° Celsius. Furthermore, in Madhya Maharashtra, Nasik witnessed the lowest temperature of 6.3° Celsius. The fall in temperature is expected till Thursday, January 27. Notably, on January 10, Maharashtra reported its first coldest morning, which was below 10° Celsius.

Goa Witnesses Light-Moderate Rainfall, Temperature Likely To Drop: IMD

Goa will receive light to moderate rainfall on January 23, predicted the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). "Light rain very likely at a few places over North Goa and isolated places over South Goa districts during the next 3-4 hours," said IMD. The rainfall is due to cloudy winds, moving towards North-East direction. Moreover, after the rainfall, the temperature is likely to fall to 2°-3° Celsius, in two-three days.
