Tokyo Paralympics: Indian Archer Rakesh Kumar Secures 3rd Position

Scoring 699 out of 720 points, India's master archer Rakesh Kumar bagged the third spot while Shyam Sundar Swami with 682 points finished 21st in the men's compound individual archery ranking round in the Tokyo Paralympics at the Yumenoshima Ranking Field. Kumar secured the spot after a perfect 60 in the fourth and fifth set. Both are set to head for a possible mixed event with Jyoti Balyan.

Tek Chand Becomes India's Flag-Bearer At Tokyo Paralympics

Javelin thrower Tek Chand has been bestowed to become India's flag-bearer at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 in Japan because the Rio 2016 Gold Medal winner Thangavelu Mariyappan with 5 others have been quarantined. The event is scheduled to start on August 24 and will end on September 5. For this year at the games, India has sent its biggest-ever contingent of 54 para-athletes from across nine sports disciplines.
