UAE: SEHA Refuses COVID Vaccines To Visitors

Abu Dhabi's SEHA app removed the "visitor" option from the vaccination section, despite assuring otherwise last week. People with tourist and visit visas could previously seek free vaccination through this option. Vaccination was previously restricted to only UAE citizens and residency visa holders. However, authorities are yet to respond to this issue.

UAE: Kerala Native On Death Row Freed As Lulu Group Owner Pays Rs 1Cr

The UAE administration on June 3 spared Indian national Becks Krishnan's life as Kerala-based Lulu Group owner-cum-philanthropist MA Yusuff Ali paid for his "blood money" worth Rs 1 crore. Krishnan was on a death row since 2012, after he rammed his car into a group of children, killing a Sudanese boy. "It's a rebirth for me, as I had lost all hope of seeing the outside world," said Krishnan.

UAE To Continue Ban On Passenger Flights From India Till June 30

Passenger flights between India and the United Arab Emirates will remain suspended till June 30, stated the Arab nation on May 30. The ban was earlier proposed to remain in force till June 14 but, keeping in view the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it has been extended. However, the travel ban will not be applicable to "UAE nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas, and members of diplomatic missions".

BCCI Requests West Indies To Prepone Caribbean Premier League

The BCCI is in talks with Cricket West Indies to prepone the Caribbean Premier League by a week or 10 days to avoid the clash with the second phase of the IPL. The board cited a seamless bubble-to-bubble transfer of players as the reason. Scheduled to commence from August 28, the CPL final will be played on September 19. Whereas, IPL is likely to start from September 18 in UAE.

Remaining Matches Of IPL2021 To Be Played From Sept 18 Or 19: Report

According to reports, the remaining matches of the IPL2021 will be played in United Arab Emirates tentatively from September 18 or 19. Postponed after series of players and support staff testing COVID+, the remaining 14th edition of the tournament will have 10 double-headers within a three week window. Moreover, with 31 remaining matches in the tournament, the final will probably be played on October 9 or 10.

The world's tallest building - Dubai's Burj Khalifa - was illuminated with Tricolour on April 25 with a message "Stay Strong India". Indian Embassy in the UAE stated, "As Indian battles gruesome war against COVID19, its friend UAE sends its best wishes." Another landmark building in UAE, the Adnoc headquarters in Abu Dhabi, was also lit up in the colours of Indian flag, expressing solidarity with India against COVID-19.

UAE To Suspend Flights From India From April 25; Cites COVID Surge

Due to the record rise in COVID-19 cases in India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to stop all flights between India and the middle-eastern nation from April 25. Reportedly, the travel ban will be re-evaluated after a period of 10 days. However, people travelling from India through other countries must stay for at least 14 days in that third destination.
