Woman And Her 6-Year-Old Raped In Moving Car: Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, a woman and her six-year-old daughter were allegedly gang-raped, confirmed police on June 27. Getting into details, they were raped in a moving car in Haridwar's Roorkee, by one, identified as Sonu with his friends, who allegedly offered lift to the victim. SP Pramendra Doval said some friends of the man were already in the car and dumped the body in a canal, after the crime.

Mudslide In Uttarkashi Leaves 5 Women Buried Under Debris; CM Dhami Sends Chopper For Rescue
Due to a mudslide in Uttarkashi's forest in Naugaon, give women were buried under the debris, on June 23. Soon after the incident, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami sent out a "government helicopter" for the rescue. While one woman succumbed to her injuries on the way, four others are being treated at AIIMS, Rishikesh. CM Dhami further stated that he wishes for their speedy recovery.

Disappointed with the new "Agnipath Recruitment Scheme" in Army, aspirants staged a violent protests erupted in Bihar and Utarakhand. Char Dham Yatra Receives Record Number 18 Lakh Pilgrims This Year
Within just over a month of its commencement, the Char Dham Yatra in Garhwal Himalayas received a record number of over 18 lakh pilgrims. As of June 10, Badrinath received 6,18,312 pilgrims and Kedarnath 5,98,590. Meanwhile, Gangotri received 3,33,909 pilgrims and Yamunotri received 2,50,398 pilgrims. With this a total of 18,01,209 pilgrims visited the Himalayan temples this year.

Heat Causes Forest Fire In Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal
Due to rising temperatures in Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal region, a fire broke out in the forest area, on June 3. According to Manoj Rawat, a forest department official, "Forest range of Kirtinagar in Tehri Garhwal district is burning". He further stated that due to the "heat and unsanitary conditions", the employees of the forest department are facing problems. Operations to douse the fire are underway, and further details are awaited.

7 Trekkers Stranded In Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag At Height Of 4,500 Metres Rescued In IAF Chopper
A group of seven trekkers who were stranded at an altitude of 4,500 metres in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag, have been rescued by an Indian Air Force Chopper, on May 30. Reportedly, the group trekked to film a documentary, and found themselves unable to trek back. The group ran out of water and food, and was stranded since three days, due to which, they raised an SOS.

Former Uttarakhand Minister Rajendra Bahuguna Commits Suicide
Ex-Uttarakhand Minister Rajendra Bahuguna allegedly committed suicide on May 27. He climbed a water tank and shot himself on May 26. 91 Pilgrims Died During Char Dham Yatra, Most Of Them Suffered Heart Attack
Uttarakhand Health DG Dr. Shailja Bhatt informed that approximately 91 pilgrims lost lives during the 2022 Char Dham Yatra. On May 27, Bhatt said, "Most of the pilgrims died due to heart-attacks". Furthermore, highlighting the strengthened medical services compared to earlier, Shailja Bhatt said, for the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand, nearly 169 doctors were deployed to treat patients in the course of the yatra, which started on May 3.

4 More Pilgrims Die In Kedarnath, Death Toll At 38 Since May 6: Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand's Kedarnath, four more Pilgrims lost their lives after falling ill, on May 25. Meanwhile, three others have been airlifted to Rishikesh's AIIMS via air ambulance. The deceased have been identified as Rishi Bhadauriya (65), Shambu Dayal Yadav (66), Kamalnath Bhatt (60) and Changdev Janardan Shinde. Reportedly, since May 6, over 38 Pilgrims have died on their way, due to cardiac arrest and other health problems.
