Indore Declared As India's First 'Water Plus' City

Deemed as the cleanest city in India, Madhya Pradesh's Indore now gets the "water plus" tag under the Swachh Survekshan 2021 on August 11. As a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Survekshan survey ensures wastewater should be significantly treated before reusing. Commenting on the tag, Indore Municipal Commissioner Pratibha Pal said that, "30% of the city's sewage water was recycled and reused for several purposes."
