3 Boys Drowned In Yamuna River While Taking Bath: North Delhi

While taking a morning bath in North Delhi’s Yamuna river on the morning of August 29, three teenagers drowned, while one was survived. The body of the deceased will be returned to their families after completion of post mortem. After getting information from the locals, two fire tenders, a team of divers, and local police rushed to the spot. They were declared dead while bringing them to the hospital.

Fishing In Yamuna River Suspended Due To Excessive Pollution

The Delhi government has prohibited fishing in certain parts of the Yamuna river, citing excessive pollution levels in the river. Delhi: Pollution Control Authorities Shut 2 Units Over Yamuna Frothing Issue

As a major crackdown on polluting factories, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has shut down the operations of two plants, and has ordered closure of 15 others. The decision was taken after it was found that the plants were functioning without having effluent treatment facilities, due to which Yamuna river has suffered a severe frothing. Reportedly, a total of 21 plants were examined by the authorities.

Thick Layer of Toxic Foam Forms Over Yamuna In Delhi

Amid deteriorating air quality in New Delhi, Yamuna river has been covered by a thick layer of toxic foam.
