Politician Navjot Singh Sidhu took to Twitter and apologized for wearing a shawl with Sikh religious symbols. Sidhu wrote “Shri Akal Takht Sahib is Supreme, if I have unknowingly hurt the sentiments of even One Sikh, I apologize.” "Millions of other Sikhs put on Sikh symbols on Turban, clothes and also carve Tattoos, so did I", he mentioned.
