Belarus: Authorities Revoke Accreditation of 15 Journalists
The Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reported that 15 Belarusian journalists working for the BBC and other foreign media had their accreditation removed by the authorities. Displeasure was expressed against the same, while many stating that independent journalism was being suppressed. The decision came three weeks after the media coverage of the anti-government protests in Belarus that erupted following a controversial presidential election wherein Alexander Lukashenko emerged victorious.
