Akash Missile's Latest ‘Akash Prime’ Successfully Destroys Unmanned Target

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on September 27, successfully tested a new version of the Akash Missile – "Akash Prime" Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha. The missile intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial target mimicking enemy aircraft, in its maiden flight test after improvements, the DRDO said. Rajnath Singh, DRDO chairman Dr. GS Reddy congratulated the defence forces for the successful flight trial of the missile.
