Britain To Honour Saragarhi Martyrs By Placing Statue Of Havildar Ishar Singh

Honouring the 21 soldiers of the 'Battle of Saragarhi', nine-feet bronze statue of Havildar Ishar Singh will be installed in Britain. The Guru Nanak Gurdwara at Wednesfield, Wolverhampton has already raised Rs 48 lakh, almost half the cost-amount of the statue (Rs.97 lakh), which will be unveiled in September 2021. This would be the first monument in Britain honoring the 21 Sikh Soldiers who were martyred fighting against 10,000 Afghans in September 1897.
