Chennai's Hope For Playoff Diminishes After Suffering Loss Against Rajasthan
The chances of Chennai Super Kings qualifying to the playoffs diminished further as they suffered a 7-wicket loss against the Rajasthan Royals. Thanks to the shaky opening and tumbling middle-order, batting first after winning the toss did not go well for CSK. Although MS Dhoni and Jadeja tried to keep CSK walking with their 51-run partnership, it was too less to compensate the damage inflicted upon the team already. Consequently, Chennai could put only a below-par score of 125 runs. Rajasthan's batting did not begin on a good note either as it lost three early wickets. However, Rajasthan's intent to win and stay alive in the tournament was quite evident. With Jos Buttler's mind-boggling knock of 70 runs off 48 deliveries, Rajasthan sealed the victory comfortably in 17.3 overs. With this win, Rajasthan now stands at 5th in the points table. Meanwhile, Dhoni created a record as he became the first player to feature in 200 IPL matches.
